Press fit hub, help needed

I'm a noobie to press fit bearings...having experience only with balls.
Can someone tell me how to remove them from this Velomax hub?
Thanks!

They're not 'press-fit' bearings, they're cartridge bearings. You can remove the first one by tapping on the axle and it will drive the bearing out of the opposite side of the hub. Then you can put the axle in the other bearing and tap it out. You'll need bearing press tools to put new ones in.

Cool, thanks a ton...and for the terminology fix, also.

I did tap on the axle, but only carefully.
Then I went straight to my laptop for expert assistance!

I asume a bit of wd-40, prior to tapping, would be good, too.

So you need a bearing press tool to press in bearings that aren't press fit?

This may be a pressing matter.

Done deal, easy-peasy, thanks again.

I watched a video, and have the odds-and-ends to use a threaded rod and washers to re-install.

I took them out because they felt just a smidge rougher than the butter smooth rear hub.
Now out, though, they feel just fine. Can you re-lube these, maybe with Phil's Tenacious Oil?

Looking at new ones, I see different brands, and mostly a "R8-2RS" label. Is this the same as mine?
I assume the rear is the same as the front, right?

You can remove the seals and relube. If they are making noise under load replace them with a high-quality radial bearing.

You can (carefully) remove the cover with an exacto knife and put grease (not oil) in the bearings.

Maybe/probably, but I wouldn't assume it. Take a look at the numbers.

Found them...they are labeled R6RS
I'll just order new, as they are quite inexpensive.

Whenever we find a new bearing size that we don't have, we order a sleave of 10 (future)

I'm sorry but why on earth would you feel the need to post that here? What you do has absolutely no bearing on what the OP will do.
