What could possibly go wrong?
Well for one thing, you know how cranks sometimes break at the pedal hole? From the force on the pedal, times the leverage from it being a couple inches away from the crank? Well try applying twice as much force, times several times as much leverage.
Then imagine you're pedaling hard when the crank breaks and both of your feet fall out from under you, more or less instantaneously. On a bike that relies on delicate balance between the two riders, maintained at all times by carefully steering, to keep your combined center of gravity centered over the two tires.
Plus now it's two people falling down. Who's gonna take care of you with your broken bone(s), when your partner is just as broken as you?
Other than that though, seems like a great idea! Oh but now it's motorized, so you're also going that much faster when it breaks.
Remember, you're not eligible for a Darwin Award if you've already procreated. You need to remove your genes from the pool before that point, for the species to be improved by your passing.

^^^^^ That's basically a jitney, not a tandem. And WTF is that between the top of the non-stoker's seat tube and the "pilot's" seat tube? Coat hanger wire?
They could have at least rigged a set of pegs through the passenger's BB shell.....

Schwinn Circuit frame - $75
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...tory_type=post
Frame and no wheels - Which works out fine, as you might have a problem as you might well have a problem re-attaching them (back one anyways)
