Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Why? We use that stuff by the bucketful. If we didn’t we’d never be able to control the weeds.

We pulled all of our Nandina bushes this year. Every week there are 10 to 20 new ones sprouting. The only cure is RoundUp type herbicides.

The cancer thing has only been linked to high volume users such as farmers from what I understand.

Guess it’ll kill you one way or the other.

Utes have some crazy uniforms on. I think they're trying to be Navy ships.

Was able to ride this morning without any pain. Stayed mostly in zone 1 power but I did venture up to zone 3 for a little bit. This was done with out clipping in.

I got on tonight clipping in, had to adjust my left cleat so that my toe is face in pretty dramatically. Again no pain, but only road for a short period. Didn’t want to over do it.

Plan on trying again tomorrow clipping in for about 30 mins to see how it feels.

First flight check test is tomorrow. 4 hours of fires, failures and other catastrophes.

My worst bonk I had stomach trouble and couldn't eat or drink but had lots of climbing left. It was hot and I felt terrible. When I finally made it back to my car I knew I shouldn't be driving but I made it to a 7-11 to get a Big Gulp. I had a lot of trouble getting it done and I couldn't count out change. I was at the mercy of the cashier.

After downing some of my Coke I was ok to drive home. It was weird, like being drunk and knowing I was impaired.

My brain sever slowed during what ended up being a 130+ mile day fully loaded. I was on the D&R canal path above Stockton, NJ. I was so bonked I started to drift off into the brush. My brain knew what was happening but would not send signals to my body to correct the issue. Went into the brush and fell over. When I got back on the path I literally slapped my face a couple of times to help me focus. A couple of miles later I ate some of the Stromboli strapped to my rear rack. That got me through to a hotel in New Hope because the campground along the river was flooded. It was the day after Hurricane Floyd.

McKinley is out for the remainder of the game, huge dent in the Oregon defense.

She's very particular about it, what with the dogs and all. But she's got a number of preferences in yard care that create work for yours truly.
