First ride of 62nd year

Took the first ride of my 62nd year on Earth this morning. It was cloudy and windy but everything went my way. It was warm enough so for the first time this year was able to wear shorts and a t-shirt and it felt great. Except for one steep hill I went the 20 miles running 52/19, 18 and 17 gearing with 27"x32mm tires. Stopped before the leg home to snap this photo, drink my water and ate a banana. Also went for a little ride around the hood and talked to a neighbor and picked up some vacuum-cleaner parts someone put out for trash that I needed. If the rest of the riding season goes as well as today went it will be like heaven.

Yep, "ride your age on your birthday" is a fun tradition. I'm thinking next year at 75 I may switch to km.

Yes but flat is hard to find around here. Mine's in January but our weather is so variable I can usually get a good day sometime during the month. I truly dislike riding in the cold.

Basically, your "birthday" is flexible (nearest warm day in January). Very sensible.

I would have guessed 72, not 62.
