vEveresting | Here I go again
I'm getting excited/nervous for my revisit to vEveresting tomorrow (Feb 25) ... Last year I ended up in the hospital with 4+ IV bags after my first attempt (the longer story on my blog: https://bikesbeersstuff.blogspot.com/2021/06/)
In brief, I had a couple follow up visits/consultations with doctors because I wanted to know what happened and the basic answer was "that was a weird fluke". And in the months following my failed vEversting, I rode some very challenging events include the Spring Valley 100 (Almanzo 100 course) with temps close to 100F (I was wrecked but no need for IV fluids) and The DAMn on a fatibke (240-mile one-day gravel race).
I'll post updates here after the ride.

Good luck! The only thing I could think of that I'd like to do LESS than an actual Everesting, is a vEveresting. Keep us posted on how you get on (hopefully not from a hospital bed).

It took nearly 14 hours, and I'm a total wreck the next day, but I completed my vEversting on Alpe du Zwift yesterday ... and didn't need an ER or IVs! I'll work on a blog post and share the link here in the next week or two. For now, eat all the foods and drinking water non-stop!

I keep thinking of attempting a vEverest, just to tick the box. Might give it a go at the end of this riding season when I'm hopefully in top form.

Good luck! I'll be following this since I am recovering from crash injuries and won't be able to ride, even a trainer, for another couple of months. And when I am able, it will be on a smart bike. Getting back into it will be a challenge.
Ride on!
