The tolerances of the standard manufacturers are such that what you are claiming seems "far fetched".
It's not worth mentioning. I'd get the snapshot first.

Then why start the thread if you won't give information that incidentally, is worth mentioning if you want to be credible...

Well don't do like the video and measure the bottom run of chain. Measure the top run and have some tension on the chain when you do it.

And of course a good quality picture of you measuring it will help us understand what you are seeing. Just make certain we can see the 0 and 12 inch mark clearly in the same photo and what they are measuring.

???

It's very unlikely you would be right about a chain from a normal company (like Shimano) or any company.

You are doing something wrong.

I also measured the top and saw the same thing, no change at all. I'll see what I can do about that and close ups to show condition.

You'll get it with the snapshot. I just don't want any pre-conceived biases before you see the snapshots

I can't coast even if I badly wanted to. I don't use the zero resistance GP5000 tires, I have full fenders, touring tires, 32 spoke wheels, bags all the time. My kit has more resistance than the French Resistance back in WW2.

So far as I know, there's no such thing as "negative stretch" so it's much more likely that the explanation is you're measuring it incorrectly. Do you seriously think that the chain is getting smaller after being put on your bike? Maybe you shouldn't stick your bike in the freezer before measuring it.

I'd wear cammo too if I had to ride that thing.

Is that a lead acid battery strapped to the rear rack? I guess it helps with wheel slip on the extreme climbs.

Maybe it's gonna be an ebike when it grows up.

Then it's clearly and issue of insufficient guadpower.

If you had another bike to ride, then you wouldn't have to ride that thing.

Did your rapidly spinning chain trigger a reaction in a maladjusted dog causing him to bite a few links off? Considering all of your posts together that is the most likely explanation.
