These are extremely underrated frames that Mongoose made. Frames were made with 4130 thin wall chromoly in Taiwan, geometry is spot on, and have room for 700 x 45c (maybe bigger) tires. You can find these for super cheap, repaint, and immediately love riding them. Back in the day I checked geometry on them and they were the same as early 2000's Trek FX's. The crossway's that replaced them after were just as excellent up until the Pacific Bike buy out around 97ish.

They have some cool low step & mixte versions of these like mine out there if you can find them and the frames on those are decently light.
