Disc wheels??

Ok folks. I am new to disc brakes and wheels. I know there is center lock and 6 bolt but I do not know what determines which one you need. Do you have to buy a certain wheel? Any input would be appreciated. Thank you

The rotor determines the type. Some hubs can handle both with adapters. Personally, I prefer CL over 6-bolt. In my experience it's easier to deal with and rotor alignment is not as much of a fuss when swapping wheels or sharing between bikes.

Ok so if you get a CL rotor then you need a CL hub wheel. Correct?

That's what I thought at first as well, but he must just have got or is getting a new bike. I think.

I usually buy my rotors to match the wheels (hubs), not the other way around.
