Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If I dug around a bit, I could find and photograph my A&P aircraft mechanic license. I'm not going to do that though

Well, the paper may not be impressive, but the skill set is very cool.

I wouldn’t know either but I’d be tempted to google it if prizes were involved.

Many years back when I used to watch the show American Idol, there was some young ditzy country singer who didn’t know who Stevie Wonder was. Unreal.

Interesting but slightly sad story. You may recall the last chapter, one of my friends/club-mates has a gorgeous custom crabon Seven that cracked TWICE on the DS seatstay near the dropout. The most recent time was a few months ago, and they repaired it.

He discovered it cracked AGAIN. Same location. I don't know what the issue is, but it's no bueno.

Neighbors. They aren't dairy farmers anymore. That foliage covered ruin to the left was a bull barn, BITD.

I’m on vacation and haven’t even walked by a bike shop, let alone been in one. Crazy, I know.

Seriously, I’ve seen a zillion cyclists but only one drop bar machine and he was wearing jeans and a regular jacket... and a backpack.

Here’s me riding the real Richmond cobbles last month. No jet engine hum, just the sound of my teeth and cables and chain rattling.

New house and new baby means riding outside is next to impossible now, so I’m slowly becoming a Zwift-only cyclist, as much as it pains me to admit that. Oh well, beats being sedentary.

Also me on the Richmond course, "why am I crawling? What? An 11% grade? Dan didn't show me this. Or this 8%. Or this 10%. Or this other 8%... "

FWIW, I have neither a new baby nor a new house, but riding outside is next to impossible for me, too.

And, if I'm being honest, I'm kind of liking the schedule freedom that comes with a one hour trainer workout vs a few hours of getting dressed, riding, wiping down the bike, etc.

Same for my doctorate. I have no idea what it says. And it was around the end of the time they used real sheepskin. I called and asked for a replacement when a framer damaged it slightly. The school told me the replacement wouldn’t be sheepskin. Okay... What they didn’t tell me was it would have “second copy” printed on it in Latin. That I could translate. I decided to just use the original. Bastids.

Same. If I have an hour worth of stuff on the bike, it is much more economical to go the trainer route.
