How confident are you in quick links? I've never used them on road bikes except for emergency repairs. I'm also neglectful of drivetrain maintenance, except for lubing the chain, and tend to let everything get trashed before I replace anything. Plus, I break things, but usually not chains.
I ask because I need to shorten the chain on my Campagnolo equipped bike. I bought a used crankset in September and the shop installed it for me along with a new chain I had and it has shifted like crap and dropped the chain ever since. I just realized the chain is too long when trying to diagnose the bad performance. I don't have a Campagnolo chain tool or an extra pin and was thinking of just using a quick link to shorten it.
Is there a specific quick link for Campagnolo chains? Anyone know if I can put my old 10 speed rings on an 11 speed Chorus crankset? The bcd is the same and they look similar. Instead of spending $100 for a big ring I thought I would try the old one from the cracked crankset and see how it works before dropping more dough into the thing.

I did the shopping the other night since the spouse is sick, and the store was completely out of Ghirardelli 72% dark chocolate. That's the only one she will eat. Prolly the biggest crises I've faced in our 27 years together.

It pains me deeply to reveal this, but I agree with . . . . . . . gasp . . . . . . . Vol, on the gravel issue. Dirt (gravel) roads just aren't proper, in fact they're crude. What proper, sophisticated roadie wants to get muddy while cycling?

Mrs. GeneJockey keeps asking for higher and higher percentages as her tolerance for the bitterness grows and she just gobbles it down. It used to be 72% was high enough, but now she's going for the hard stuff - 85%.

Crabon hardtail 26er riding is the only proper cycling. It was a perfect day in the desert. A little overcast at first, even felt a raindrop as I was loading up minivan #1, then sun started shining on me for the last 20 minutes of the ride.

I hesitate to ride my road bike when the streets are wet, and I won't ride in the ran, but I'm soft AF when it comes to weather. I admire tough guys/gals. however.

So on a recent group ride, one of my co-riders mentioned that he thinks I need to move my saddle back.
I don't necessarily agree, as it's set up for KOPS, more-or-less.
However, he may have a point. I notice that most other cyclists ride with the edge of their butt more-or-less even with the back of their saddle. For whatever reason, I am more comfortable sitting on my saddle and the edge of my backside is 1-2 cm PAST the edge of the saddle.
I don't see my position/setup as a problem since it's comfortable for me, but anyone have any comments?

^^^^^ Typical California cyclist. I don't do rain and I only ride plastic or beer can bikes on wet roads, but I guess now I have another option.
