If memory serves, in one edition of Richard Ballentine's Richard's Bicycle Book, he opens the description of the A-D Vent Noir with one word - "Sexy." And it IS. Great score.

That looks like a fairly early Vent Noir with the matte black finish. Much nicer than the “black chrome” finish on the later bikes IMHO.

As I said in an earlier post, I just picked up a similar vintage Vent Noir for $500 and feel like I paid a fair price.
