If memory serves, in one edition of Richard Ballentine's Richard's Bicycle Book, he opens the description of the A-D Vent Noir with one word - "Sexy." And it IS. Great score.

That looks like a fairly early Vent Noir with the matte black finish. Much nicer than the “black chrome” finish on the later bikes IMHO.

Awesome deal for you! Keep it and ride it if it fits you.

Yes I really like the flat black with the nicely done gold leaf hand done details pin stripping..

I would have to agree with the rating "under valued". Your purchase price confirms.

As I said in an earlier post, I just picked up a similar vintage Vent Noir for $500 and feel like I paid a fair price.

I decided to to start a new thread for it in C&V rather than jump in and thread jack here.
