Addiction 2022.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm wondering if I should have grabbed my camping stove from my storage unit today. Looks like the forecast is for 1/2" (12mm) at least of ice overnight and through tomorrow.

And speaking of Friday night, I was too tired to watch the Expanse last night, so time to brew up some decaf and get a slice of that cheesecake and go into outer space.

I drove ahead of the group today and waited for them near the top of a 4 mile climb which had some steep sections. It's interesting to see who comes up first but also who comes up last. The 2 riders at the back are both mega-mile type riders, 1 coming back from serious injuries and the other suffering from burn out and lack of saddle time.

There are some riders who won't come to a fast club ride unless they are in top shape. One of these 2 was clearly feeling a little embarrassed at being stuck in the back with me. I had to keep telling him I understood. One of the younger guys was taunting him, too, which pissed him off a little.

I had a Revell kit model of the Challenger 1 when I was about 12. The thing had 4 Pontiac V8 engines.
