Ragged Point?
I guess it's sort of Central CA but thought I'd ask here. Is there any lodging at or very close to Ragged Point other than the Ragged Point Inn? I'll be headed south from Monterey and San Simeon makes it too long of a leg. Thanks.

i like the big sur river inn but that's too close to your starting point. there is this place...striking upon the hillside as you pass by.
not inexpensive but then again, what is in this area? haven't hit it personally but perhaps someone else has.

Cambria to Ragged Point is the ride to do. It will take a while and towards the finish to Ragged Point, its uphill.
Plenty of places to stay at Cambria. Food is good there.
Sea Chest Oyster Bar: 6216 Moonstone Beach Drive, Cambria, CA 93427 (805) 927-4514.

I guess we're going to suck it up and pay to stay at Inn at Ragged Point. A lot of $$$ for a couple bikers to stay for one night but it'll be well deserved after that first leg. Probably be very comfy with good food too. We'll go hobo the next few stops, lol!
