Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Not yet as such, but has always sweated like a champ. Likely why her best races are all in the worst heat.

Supposed to do another gravel event today, 66miles with about 6600 climbing. The guy who runs it emailed Friday and said it was dry, dusty and fast so I put 40mm slicks on. We got a **** ton of rain overnight so it’ll probably be a touch wet, hopefully the tires work fine. It’s supposed to rain in and off all day too. Should be fun- at least it’s not rainy and 38 degrees!

I was rolling my bike on the last ride and heard a slight noise. I found that the front disc was lightly rubbing. I centered the caliper and trued the rotor and all is well again.

One always wonders how long this has been going on and is that why I’ve been crap on the bike lately. Doubtful, but I now have an excuse. :

Are they any kind of special "cool black" type of material? I've only bought white sun sleeves because the radiant heat on my black jerseys certainly seems more intense than when I'm wearing a lighter jersey. None of them are wundermaterial, though.

My mom’s family used to do that, but with Old Bay. Grandma would steam them with some beer. Only time I ever saw her touch alcohol. I tried it one night when we had a house near the shore for a week. Gave up after about 3 and made a ham sandwich.

Yes, I forget which brand they are but specifically anti-UV and IR. Coldblack is still hotter than white with the same UV/IR properties, but it's not far off.

She's also way less heat-sensitive than you are.
