And now for something completely different - frame graphics

Now that you've given your full backstory smontanaro (punch cards!), you might consider doing your graphics in FORTRAN 77. There is a CYCLE command in the conditional structures that wouldn't look out of place on a down tube and a comment could surreptitiously include your name (because Skipping is what the cycle command does!). I think I got the syntax correct for the sentiment, "If you've got more bikes than your partner allows, then cycle ! Skip." Implying that if the conditional is not true, you can buy another bike.
if ( n >= (s-1) ) then
cycle ! Skip
end if
The whole command sequence might be a bit long for a single tube, but maybe not any longer than the proposed zeros and ones. Just a thought for a bikeforum brainstorm.

Beta. Has to be there. It's not only software related, but it also is your disclaimer if anything turns out in a way you'd like to correct.
I'm skeptical that binary gives the proper mix of character size and number of characters.
ASCII and Hexadecimal might remedy this. Skip = 53 48 49 50 Beta = 42 45 54 41
It's nerdy, old school, esoteric... I'll refrain from suggesting a color scheme, but simply note that it wouldn't hurt to consider how it would go with the saddle you're likely to put on it.
Glad to hear Doug has his space back up and on-line. I'm slightly envious because you're getting to fulfill a life's dream, and I know how many fewer mistakes you're likely to make than I would.

Sorry, the censors got you martl. Any chance you can whisper the URL into my email ear (skip.montanaro@gmail.com)?
there also is the "obfuscated c contest", especially some early ones. this is a very nerdy and funny place where some brilliant programmers started to share their worst, but still working, coding mess-ups but it immediately got out of Control naturally
if i was inclined creating some text based graphics with a programming theme, i'd look no further
Code:
#include <stdio.h> int O,o,i;char*I="";main(l){O&=l&1?*I:~*I,*I++||(l=2*getchar(),i+=O>8 ?o:O?0:o+1,o=O>9,O=-1,I="t8B~pq`",l>0)?main(l/2):printf("%d\n",--i);}
Code:
char rahc [ ] = "\n/" , redivider [ ] = "Able was I ere I saw elbA" , * deliver,reviled = 1+1 , niam ; main ( ) {/*\} \*/ int tni = 0x0 , rahctup,putchar ( ) ,LACEDx0 = 0xDECAL, rof ; for (;(int) (tni);) (int) (tni) = reviled ; deliver = redivider ; for ((int)(tni)++,++reviled;reviled* *deliver;deliver++,++(int)(tni)) rof = (int) -1- (tni) ;reviled--;--deliver; (tni) = (int) - 0xDECAL + LACEDx0 - rof ; for (reviled--,(int)--(tni);(int) (tni);(int)--(tni),--deliver) rahctup = putchar (reviled* *deliver) ; rahctup * putchar ((char) * (rahc)) ; /*\ {\*/}
Code:
#define o define #o ___o write #o ooo (unsigned) #o o_o_ 1 #o _o_ char #o _oo goto #o _oo_ read #o o_o for #o o_ main #o o__ if #o oo_ 0 #o _o(_,__,___)(void)___o(_,__,ooo(___)) #o __o (o_o_<<((o_o_<<(o_o_<<o_o_))+(o_o_<<o_o_)))+(o_o_<<(o_o_<<(o_o_<<o_o_))) o_(){_o_ _=oo_,__,___,____[__o];_oo ______;_____:___=__o-o_o_; _______: _o(o_o_,____,__=(_-o_o_<___?_-o_o_:___));o_o(;__;_o(o_o_,"\b",o_o_),__--); _o(o_o_," ",o_o_);o__(--___)_oo _______;_o(o_o_,"\n",o_o_);______:o__(_=_oo_( oo_,____,__o))_oo _____;}

I'm late to the game, but intrigued by the goal.
I've used punch cards myself, so the idea is appealing. Not sure how you would use it exactly.
I've also used mylar punch tape, and that appeals to me a bit more. I can envision it looping around a bit, just to make it more interesting.
The idea of using a flow chart came to mind too, although that would require a lot of area and be a bit more cryptic than might be useful.
I gotta admit, I've never decorated my custom bikes with electronics images. I just built electronics (mostly lights) for the bikes. Maybe you need to come up with some little processor or uC projects for the bike??

That's it.
A scrolling sign in Mylar on the TT and "Rent This Space" on the DT.
Run it off a dyno. The faster you go, the faster it scrolls.
Put web addresses on the scroll and charge per hit.
Make enough money and you'll never patch a tube again.
