Savadeck Bikes
So, I'm not sure if this is the right spot to put this thread, but I'll try. What I'm wondering is if anyone has any real experience with these bikes (not urban legend stuff).
1. Has anyone had or known someone who has purchased one of these bikes in the last 2 years.
2. I don't want to start a discussion on the poor quality of overseas carbon fiber, just real first hand experience with a Savadeck.
3. I've heard people talk about "counterfeit" components. Has anyone actually seen a counterfeit Shimano crank set? Or Campy or Sram?
4. The price of these bikes is amazing, how can you beat it? How can you beat a full carbon bike with R8020 Hydraulic Disc Brakes and Shimano Ultegra R8000 for under $2,700.00?
5. I understand one would be taking a chance, I'm asking people that have taken the chance (not looking for opinions of people that have never ridden one).
6. There are very few reviews of these bikes, but the majority are positive (again where do these reviews come from?).

86% of the ratings show as 4 star and above and 90% above 3 stars so I assume that link is to show they are reviewed very well and strongly recommended.

I think you will struggle to find a meaningful review from anyone who actually knows what they are talking about. Probably just have to take a gamble and see if it works out for you.

Either way, they are usually more believable than the reviews on the sellers site.

Yeah and, IMO, that's just way too much money to roll the dice.... and that's not to mention that, if everything is okay structurally and functionally, you're still left with a bike that's not terribly pleasing to behold and doesn't engender much pride of ownership (again, IMO).

You may not find any owners here but I encourage you to step up and order one. After all, "How can you beat a full carbon bike with R8020 Hydraulic Disc Brakes and Shimano Ultegra R8000 for under $2,700.00?" Please post a review after you have some miles on it.

It's not actually even amazing value. Thinking about it, that's exactly the price I paid for my Giant Defy Advanced Pro 2 in the end of season sales at the end of 2019. Obviously such sales are not around this season, but still it's a lot of money for something of totally unknown quality. I would rather put that money into a known brand with a lower tier groupset. Current 105 and mechanical Ultegra are more or less identical anyway.

Prior to COVID, I was seeing quite a few brand new carbon fiber bikes in the 2000 dollar range and less for the previous model year NOS. Though most were 105 or Tiagra. I'd think after things get back to normal we see a lot more carbon for less. It's actually getting more costly to make the aluminum bikes and less costly to make the CF bikes....... assuming you aren't demanding the newer high tech fabrics, resins and layup technology.
Giant is still showing 2021 TCR Advanced 2 bikes for $2,250 at their dealer LBS's. Though it's 105 equipped.
Essentially the issue to me is whether I can go to an authorized dealer and see them face to face if I have a question about something that doesn't seem like normal wear and tear or my fault.

So, I guess not many of the Savadeck bikes out there in this forum, like none. My son was looking to buy a bike, which is why I posted the question. In the end he found this on Craigslist and picked it up the other day. Thanks for the replies.

Is that a really small frame? Or is it just the angle relative to the camera, because the bars look huge compared to the rest of the bike.

Never ridden one, but the components and assembly add up to a cost around 2400 USD giving them a 300 USD profit. Plausible?
