Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This morning I conveyed my mom to a medical appointment in Morristown (near Jefferson City).

Whilst I was waiting, I decided to go on a walking activity along Andrew Johnson Highway (see post #4267).

I'm walking on the sidewalk, the same direction as traffic, when a car pulling into a business almost hit me. Not like screeching brakes almost, but like wut are you doing? It didn't yield to me, the lawful pedestrian.

He had a Colorado license plate. What have you to say for your people, LAJ ?

Today upon arrival at an I-81 interchange, I thought of heading north, for lunch with rjones28, but who knows when he'll show up at work again.

Sometimes when I fill up the van and the computer says Range: 555 miles, I sometimes get the urge to book a motel ~500 miles away in any direction.

I haven't ridden the Rose Bowl loop in a while, but it has been mentioned quite a bit by friends. The city has generally been pretty quick to fill holes on the east side, but it needs a full re-pave, for sure. I did the go-fast Tues/Thurs group ride a few times last summer. On one occasion, a rider hit an open pothole, flatted, and barely avoided crashing in the middle of the group.

Today's activity - 40 mile sail in about 3.5 hours, hittin 9 knots at times. Zero elevation gain. Beach time this afternoon with two good snorkels. Just finished appetizers, and waiting for dinner to be served. Painkillers have been consumed.

That's all.

So sorry to hear that. I grandson was at our house recently and his condition makes me sad. He moves like a 90 year old man and can only walk a short ways before resting. His maternal uncle also has AS but not near as bad as my grandson.

I found out quickly while driving in Boulder, CO that pedestrians get extremely testy if you don't yield.

Drum roll please!
Was notified before leaving work , my ecm is on the pourch! Arrived home and installed that puppy and fired her up. There was a few minutes of lifter clatter. But preliminary results are encouraging. Brought it up to operating temp. Added coolant till full. Short test drive. All looks good. No warning lights on dash. Programing is good.
Feels so good to have that stress off my shoulders.

I am one of the few Colorado people I know. The rest of these *******s are interlopers that think they belong here.

What if I moved to nearby Gunbarrel? Would you welcome me into the Colorado family?

Help!

When sprinting, the chain in the aspero feels like it skips off of the cassette totally and then thunks back in to place- I’m assuming its’s either A- the chain is too long or B cable tension- any other ideas?
