Actually it's older than either, though both used the sketch in a 1944 movie.

And what have you contributed to this thread except a "hoiier than thou" persona?? 3 Stooges, Abbott and Costello? Don't care. Inch by inch, step by step, I desperately try to distance myself from these stooges.
