New STI rubber hoods - fitting?
I have replaced the rubber hoods on my Shimano R8020 STIs. However, they seem to remain loose and twist outwards. On the righ-hand side, this seems to lock the little lever that low down on the inboard side, and I have to press it back back to shift.
Am I missing something - is there some method of making them 'stick' or snug?

Are they made by Shimano? Though I don't know that I've ever seen Shimano replacements. But I've never had to replace a hood.
Are they specifically for your model and version of STI? I'd think left and right might make a difference, did you mix that up?

I don't know for your R8020's but all Shimano hoods I've seen have little nubs on the inside that lock onto the lever body and hold the hood in place. Check the insides of yours and look for matching attachment spots on the bodies.

If you’ve purchased and installed the correct replacement hoods, it may just take some precise massaging to get the hoods to line up perfectly onto the shifter and get all the little nubs lined up.

Thanks - I hadn't notice those 'nubs' and the bar-tape would have prevented one of them from engaging. That should help.
