I have 10 bikes and ride them all. See my signature for the list. My favorites are the Colnago and the Zullo. I plan on dumping the Viscount, Miele and probably the Peugeot in the spring. Here is a picture of most of them.

2 I ride currently (GT Zaskar, Karakorum K2), one in need of repair that I may re-anodize (Pro-Flex 855), GT Zaskar I am almost done building, GT Zaskar frame unbuilt, Barracuda A2T I just bought and need to strip and clean. StumpJumper frame w/stuck BB that is probably toast (not interested in heating/repainting).

At my high of collecting some years back, I hit 52. The lightbulb went on and said "time to get a grip". So, although I still buy and sell, I'm down to a more respectable 30 bikes. They range from a 1934 Rollfast to a 1998 Fuji Team.

The ones that get the most miles:

'66 Paramount
'72 Raleigh Pro
'73 Raleigh Competition
'72 Fuji Newest
'84 Fuji Opus III
'86 Masi Gran Corsa

The rest of them +10 are Fuji's and an Austro-Daimler hang on display.

Funny when people ask, "do you ride them all?"

Yes, yes I do.

A few see the lions share of the work (all around / daily drivers) while the others are either antiques or special purpose bicycles.

Holding off till after the first of the year, per the chief accountant's reasonable request.

Probably for the best, as I just found another 1972 2002 in southern Minnesota.

Still owe you a return call Bob. I want to drop by and see some cool bicycles.

Woh! I didn't even know there were 16 Gitanes left in the whole world!

I'm a mere rookie compared to most and probably should'nt even post in this thread, but I have 3 in my collection, all of which are listed below in my sig. I have room for one more ("I swear honey, just one more and I'm done, finished!") and I want it to be a Colnago, a Master Olympic with full Campy would be the ultimate, but there are certainly other very fine models. So this winter, I will put the final details into my other bikes to keep me occupied, and then, God willing, I will pounce on one come springtime...

I'm currently at 21. How do you define best? They're all the best in one category or another, otherwise I wouldn't own them.

It was down to a 74 MGB GT or a 73 Saab 99LE.
I had a '74 BGT for about 6 years in the early 90's and dearly miss that car. I do not miss the Lucas (Prince of Darkness) electricals, or the SU carbs, but a wonderful car.

Now the list (I do not have pictures of all of them):

Running (or at least within 30-minutes of running):

1975 Panasonic Professional
1975 Romic X-100
1978 Trek 514
1979 Santana something-or-other (Espanosa?)
1982 Miyata 1200
1983 Specialized Expedition
1983 Kabuki Diamond Formula D
1984 Ritchey Timber Comp
1984 Lotus Odyessy
1984 Trek 830
1985 Schwinn Sierra
1986 3Rensho SRA
1986 Cannondale SM500
1986 Fisher Montare
1986/7 (?) Research Dynamics (RD) Coyote
1990 Trek 790
1991 Bridgestone MB-2
1992 Trek T100
1993 Breezer Jet Stream
1996 Fondriest cyclocross something-or-other
1999 Marin San Marino
2006 Fisher 293
2010 Pugsley

Disassembled and awaiting me to get off my arse:

1968 Geoffrey Butler
1969 Peugeot PX-8
1975 Dave Moulton Touring
1980 Mercian Superlight
1982 Trek 614
1983 Mountainbikes (aka Fisher) Montare
1984 Univega Alpina Ultimate
1986 Panasonic DX-3000 Track
1986 Ritchey Ascent
1986 Serotta Colorado
1995 Grove Team

Currently, the count is ZERO. No bikes, no parts, no tools.
Soon to be ex wife has a lot to do with that.

It went from a count of 50+ bikes and frames, a majority of flippers and about 20 keepers, a few months ago.

The painful part of this is the possibility of losing my Vitus 979 and my very first bike that I built in HS back in '79. I've kept both through 25+ years. The more recent acquisitions that will be missed are the '93 Lemond Ti/Dura Ace, '94 Schwinn Crosscut cyclo-cross custom, '91 GT Tequesta restoration, and Lemond Zurich frame. A lot of NOS frames and modern parts that were my future builds will be lost too.

Very sorry to hear that, WNG. I was divorced, too. It's complete hell when you're going through it. I promise it gets better. And once you're free, you are entirely in control of your life, and you can make it better than it ever was when you were married.

Now I'm married again, and life is beautiful.

I was going to stop at 10 but I seem to have passed that, so I have been forced to revise the number upward a bit. They are all riders/keepers. 3 are “modern” with freehubs and indexed shifting, so they really shouldn’t count. The Fisher and Trek are the daily utilitarian beaters:

1989 Fisher Advance
1992 Trek 520
1995 Kestrel 200SCi

I have 7 racers and sport tourers from the mid-60’s to mid-80’s. This has been my favourite category. The first 4 are finished and the last 3 are projects:
1967 Atala Record
1969 Lejeune racer (unknown model)
1975 Motobecane Grand Jubile
1984 Davidson Discovery
1971 Zieleman Type Special
1972 Motobecane Le Champion
1978 Carabela Super Carrera

I have recently gotten out of my normal comfort zone and started getting into older bikes. These are still in the frame-only stage, and will probably require a good deal more time, effort, and money to complete.
1948 Stallard Malvern
1950’s Automoto

They’re all nice, high-quality bikes, but I couldn’t say which is the best. The Stallard and Automoto are probably somewhat rare, but I don’t think any is particularly valuable.
