Another Bike followed me home! Pinarello Treviso. Pics inside
Hey all,
Found this at a LBS called Sammy's in St Charles IL. He claimed that its NOS. Not sure if it is or not. It does have a tiny bit of shopware. However the components are flawless. Came with two sets of wheels
Full Super Record. Came with Record index shifters that are not so compatible with the derailleurs. I'll probably switch them to friction SR. Nice Hollow rivet Regina chain! Parts are flawless. Its not my framesize but I figure it's a wall hanger anyway. Let me know what you know about this bike.. I've done ZERO work to this thing. Im sure I'm going to eliminate the spoke protector and try to find Panto stem and chainring.

For safety, I strongly recommend replacing the brake pads with KoolStops. Very nice machine!

Looks like a mid-80's model (if the decals are original, that's not too hard to work out with the '84 palmares,) but I'm surprised to see 'Pinarello' stamped dropouts, I thought they didn't come along until '87. I'll be interested to see what the serial number is.
The second smaller lever on the DS shifter should deactivate the indexing and just operate as friction shifters.
Is there a pump peg on the back of the head tube?
Those rims *drool*
The decals will disintegrate in 5... 4... 3...

Mint! I have the same frame in red with Nuovo Record and a white Cinelli saddle and bar tape, MA40 rims. Bought it 30 years ago from original owner who said it was 7 years old at the time.
Same chrome fork crown, seat stay caps and just the drive side chainstay.

I thought Pinarello did not stamp their dropouts with their name till like 1998.
Even then, some Pinarello bikes still had Campy stamped dropouts, like my 98 Montello does.

Wow, that is really nice!
The cranks are the last version of Super Record without flutes. I believe they would be ‘87. That fits with the Synchro 1 shifter although it wasn’t marketed for use with the SR RD.

Given the state of the Columbus decal, I doubt the Pinarello decals are original. But then again, if you were going to the trouble of replacing decals, why wouldn't you replace the Columbus decal while you were there?
