Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I’m super fatigued. Cramming everything in only 2 days sucks. August can’t come soon enough.

Daughter turns 4 on Saturday. I won’t be here. First Birthday I have missed and I promised her I would never miss another one.
We celebrated yesterday at Busch Gardens. It was pretty empty and she wanted to ride the grover roller coaster over and over and over and over and over. The lady working was cool, saw my daughters birthday crown and didn’t make us get off. (there wasn’t really a line of people waiting)

Hopefully this makes up for me not being here.

I know this guy's videos have been on here before, but I thought this one is pretty cool due to its very calming feel of the film.

The guy is still f'in crazy.

I did one of the first editions, if not the first. Nice ride. I used to work with the woman who helped start it. Eleanor. Forget her last name. Didn’t do the 100 because of the threat of severe thunderstorms. The way the routes were laid out, people who did the 100 got rained on. So did the start/finish. The place where they served the food was a mud puddle because it was on a slope and all the water flowed down.

It's raining. We'll lose signal shortly, and then power. Like clockwork.

Do you lose the clockwork before, or after you lose power?

That's what he gets for newfangled electronic clocks. Good old grandfather models don't need power.

Because I'm a big fan of mechanical timepieces, years ago I bought a mechanical "schoolhouse" style wall clock. After a while Mrs. GeneJockey decided she didn't like the chimes, so it was consigned to the "Man Cave" in the garage. Then The Younger Boy and his buds took that space over for D&D and other gaming, and they thought it was funny to stop the clock at 4:20. You know, 4:20? After leaving it like that for a while, I wound it up and restarted it. F***ers just stopped it at 4:20 AGAIN. I gave up.
