I noticed that the Cambium has moved from an organic cotton top to a nylon top. Don't really care much about the material or why they changed, but my concern is the nylon is more slippery than the cotton. I do like how my butt sits still on my current cotton Cambium. I will say the cover is looking a bit tattered after 8-ish years.

So any of you have a cotton and nylon version? Does you butt slide around more on the nylon or stays in place?

I have the all-weather version on my commuter, which is nylon and rubber. Sliding around is not an issue at all. It's discolored a bit with age but still looks nice.

Yeah, Cambian comes in several models and tops now (and steel rails or carbon rails). I have found the C15 all-weather super comfortable out of the box, both in the cutout and non cutout versions. My arse doesn’t seem to be able to ride leather top saddles for any appreciable distance any longer.

Thank you good people. I figured Brooks would keep the slippery-ness the same, but I wanted actual confirmation. I very much like my C15 with cotton. 8 years on the commuter, I figure 25K+ miles, it has held up well. Like I said, a bit tattered but a classy tatter.

I'm planning a new build and I was thinking about going weight weenie with a C13 142. There is a cotton version but they are pretty uncommon. The nylon all weather version is everywhere, and cheaper.

So the nylon version is like a Unicanitor? I am very happy with my modified Unicanitor CMXes, so if the nylon Cambium is anything like that, it should be fine.

I remember when the rag top Cambian first came out, some complained that it wasn’t slippery enough! It certainly has more drag than leather, but I’m not sure why folks need to be sliding around their saddles so much.

I have a Cambian I assume to be cotton/rubber but have put very few miles in on it. My take is that the rubber is what your bum makes contact with and the fabric is less significant to the feel and the :"stickiness", but...what do I know being a newbie to this model? Perhaps as they wear and the fabric is more exposed the feel of the surface changes? Do long-term Cambian riders find this to be so?

I’ve ridden both the cloth top and the all-weather for thousands of miles. No change in feel to either top over time.

I have 1,500 miles on my cotton cambium and it's just starting to show some wear. It's the light color, "slate" if I'm not mistaken, and I've been very impressed with it so far. I'm intrigued by this nylon version though. I'm looking for a saddle for a resto project and that might be a good option.

I definitely had this complaint at first. I think a lot depends on what pants you have on, but I didn't like the feeling of being "stuck" in one place. I like to move around a little bit. Once the top wore in, it was fine.
