I love that this thread has got a second life. Favorite tree? Here's a pair of photos with a bit of a sad contrast.

More Of The Same
Many of my photos have been taken for insurance purposes so not very artsy...
On the Lafayette - Moraga Trail - nice close in 12 to 25 mile ride.
This is the starting point in Walnut Creek for many of my Iron Horse Trail rides in the SF East Bay. I've used this boring wall for a lot of my bikes... but it's the same old place!

One morning I was riding along, minding my own business- and I see what looks like a bird 30 feet in the air, standing on nothing. There were big power lines above - I thought maybe the bird was snagged on some string and hung from the power lines. But the power lines weren’t in line with the bird. I sat there taking this in - trying to understand this magic bird.
eventually I realized there was a phone line- concealed in the morning sunshine and shadows- the phone line was perpendicular to the power lines-
I often take bike pix at that spot- it’s a nice spot, good view- but, really, I’m it’s all about the magical hovering standing bird.

What’s the best place to stop for a quick one on those mid-length rides, for just a sweet pick-me-out-a-treat, totally unnecessary breaks? No, not a quick one at Doofers.

Finally able to add another BF member's bike to a location I used to shoot often: the bridge over the Sammamish River near my old stomping grounds.

By the way, I really like the concept of this thread - it makes one think. Out of the blue I recalled seeing the Miyata shot some time ago, and had to go back digging for a bit. Now I'm going back to the WDYRT? thread to see if there are other similar shots that match my WA photo ops
