Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cab 911s are all over the place, don't hold value, and are not good as performance cars. They are gold chains and silk sweater cars. They are not "wear a helmet" cars. Only a coupe can be a real 911. IMHO as a past owner.

i would rather have a 944 than a boxster.

400 dollars for uno pedal. I think it would be cheaper to go 105 R7000 complete group set and buy a stages. Thinking long terms.

944 over modern Boxster? Uh, no.

944 over old Boxster, perhaps. 944s are making a comeback with the collectors.

I'd rather have a Cayman than a Boxster, but that's because I'm an old bald coot.

You only as old as you feel. I feel roughly 23 and a half. In uniform most people think I am younger than that. I don’t know if thats good or bad.

There are days that I feel 64, and there are days that I wished I didn't.

The Ferrari P4 was WAY sexier, but the McLaren and the Porsche were just brutally purposeful. Their beauty comes from their total dominance.

IF you're going to go R7000 in the very near future, sure, it's what - a hundred-some-odd dollars less expensive? But going to pedal route is functionally the same, whether or not you touch the groupset, and you can get what you want (power) within the week and at a significantly lower upfront cost. I personally wouldn't let meager maybe/possibly/could be savings in the future put me off from a solid plan that could be easily and quickly executed.

"Jesus Christ! They're letting a kid fly the plane!"

You reach an age where you stop expecting people like pilots to be older than you. Then you reach an age where you want them to be younger. Considerably.

Me too, which is why I had one. Configured correctly, a Cayman is a whole lot more fun to drive than a 911. This was one of my all-time favorite cars to own. Of course, it cost as much as a 911.

Plus, the pedals can be switched to any other bike any time.

I used to lust after the expensive cars. I guess I still do. But the Dodge is good enough for me, since I don't have time, or gas, for canyon carving or track days.

Correct, but I don’t think this 6500 is going to last forever. Pedals won’t help me go anywhere if I cant ride the bike because the groupset is kaput.

Having failed to grab that deal on the Assiomas, I comfort myself with the realization that they add a bit to Q-factor, which I suspect I'm sensitive to.

Late 60s/early 70s. The P4 was actually a bit earlier than the Porsche 917 - it ran against the Ford GT40s.

But just look at that shape!
