Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wait. It's the middle of JANUARY. Pro Football is STILL going on? When's the Super Bowl, April?
(haven't paid attention to football since Joe Montana was QB'ing the Niners)

The Super Bowl is February 13. This year the season was extended to 17 games plus a bye week. The playoffs were extended some years ago with the wild card thing.

The Superbowl was always in January until now, I think.

Day Seven(?) of the Velo Vol witch doctor office/insurance runaround.

I wonder if the only person who can answer questions (apparently) is going to show up at work today, or keep "working at home."

Nice. What did they have your FTP pegged at before?

I'm hoping to get to 4w/kg this year, but I'm not sure if I'm going to have the saddle time.

It was at 240 before, but I haven’t been riding outside much or pushing beyond sweet spot work on the trainer so that was probably low. Last summer it was giving me 270.

Id like to get 4, but I doubt it’ll happen

You guys are serious cyclists. My FTP is not even quite 3, maybe 2.9 on a good day.

That's an indoor number from a wheel-on trainer, isn't it?

Yes. I suspect it's probably within 10% of reality though. I am too thrifty to buy an on-bike PM. Plus too lazy to train the right way to justify one.

I have the same trainer as you and my difference is on the order of 10%. My indoor number is similar. Give yourself some credit, youngster.
