R800C. It’s wearing 26” mtb wheels until I get 650C tires and tubes.

Picked this up a month ago after the original owner who bought it in 96/97 rode it a handful of times then bought a more suitable mountain bike and put this in the corner of his garage. I pumped the tyres up but both tubes after being inflated for several hours ended up exploding due to the rim tape being that brittle is just fell apart,so about 32 holes in each tube and the tyre sidewalls are a little brittle so new tyres when i get round to it.

A friend brought this asking what year I thought it was. DA7400 and marked R1000, 63cm. Colors show up on a 97" but that model didn't appear in the catalog. The R4000 had changed to 9 speed. I was wondering if they were using up the last of the 7400 on the R800 series?

Asked him to send another picture. I'm not seeing R1000 but he says there is a DA stamped before the serial number.

Looks just like my 1997. The reason for no model numbers, I've learned from this thread, is it is most likely a frame up build when new. As you can see mine has a full Shimano 600 Tri-Color group with Campy wheels. Great bike to ride! There are a few of these sprinkled about in this thread.

Another thing is the DA could be the initials of the person who weld the frame. Sometimes they are on the dropouts.

Here's my 85 ST400. Picked it up for $75. New tires, tape, and cables and it's my most comfortable ride.

Mid-90s R600. Found on eBay and practically unused for 25 years. New Vittoria Corsa 25c tyres, cabling, chain, Deda Speciale bars and Nitto stem.

Rides smooth as a thick pile magic carpet.

1987 Cannondale r600

I picked this up today. Its a 58cm sized frame. The paint is near mint, I have not seen any chips or scratches; the color is Hot Pink. It comes with the original Shimano 600 groupset, and the rims have barely and wear. The only thing that needs replacing would be the saddle and the handlebar tape and other consumables. The pedals were missing but I have a set to put on. I paid $200, apparently he had multiple people wanting to buy the bike so he wasn't willing to go any lower. It came with a frame pump too, which seems to be working.

Here's mine so far. 1984 ST series (not sure what number), bought as a bare frame with original headset, seatpost, and BB; also, questionable mounting boss threads and trashed original paint (thus the $0.50 engine enamel respray). User "aluminummonster" got a much better deal getting his ST complete for less money with OK paint; on the other hand, I would have changed the saddle, bars, and wheels anyway.

This was taken on one of my first rides on my newly built 650A wheels with 40mm Col de la Vie tires, which are pretty amazing. Brakes are Tektro (slightly modified), bars and stem are Nitto, saddle is a C17s.

Really nice. I really don't need another vintage Cannondale but if i ran across a pretty pink one like this i wouldn't be about to say no.

Any updates on this? I've noticed the same problem on my rear dropouts, but haven't inspected closely. Makes me nervous, but seems to ride fine when the wheel is installed straight.

I did grind a little and got it close enough. No longer have it.

2000 R2000 Saeco CAAD4

I guess I kind of posted in the wrong place... I'm new here so had not seen this Cannondale topic...

Do not want to cross-post too much material, so here is a link to the post in Vintage - it contains the story and many more photos: "CL Find - Cannondale 2000 R2000 CAAD4 Saeco"

I now own an old Cannondale M 300 mountain bike. Paid $65 for it, rode it 5 miles.

Nifty! My favorite is the red one on the far left, looks similar to my '91 Paramount MOS.

This doesn't look so old with its disk brakes but its a '99. I do need to trim that one hose though.
