Question Tail light to attach to the Specialized Pavé seat post?

Hi.

I just bought a 2021 Specialized Roubaix Sport, which comes with the D-shaped Pavé seat post. You will see how its back side is flat from the second picture in the following article.

https://www.cyclingnews.com/reviews/...atpost-review/

The current tail light I have, the Cateye Rapid 3, doesn't fit onto it because the mounting bracket is curved for a round seat post.

Does any of you know of a tail light that fits onto the Pavé seat post? I've tried a few tail lights that I have, but they all assume to be attached to a round seat post.

Thanks in advance!

If I remember correctly, some Cateye lights such as the Omni 3 came with a round plastic tube adapter accessory (it looks like a small circular plastic tube that's been cut along its length); apparently you use that piece to make a non-round part of a seatpost, round again... though they're more useful for aero seatposts shaped like fins (e.g. V-shaped, rather than D-shape in your case). If you have that piece from any of your lights, you might give it a try.

Alternatively wrap some inner tube or similar around the seat post where you want to attach your light. Or use something mouldable like Sugru?

make the rest of the half round shape, say out of wood? & you have a complete round one.

The Garmin Varia RTL 515 comes with a "D" shaped mount that fits great on my Domane SLR "D" shaped post. But it costs $200 and includes rear facing radar which probably isn't what you are looking for.

I've been pretty pleased with the See.sense lights. They are a small company but their lights have sensors to detect something coming up on you to change their light pattern/intensity and also connect to your phone via bluetooth to send a text message for crash detection. They come with various hardware for mounting and since I'm new to this site I need to post a few more times before I can share any photos! I picked these up because while I liked the Garmin Varia light the output on those was fairly weak (at least at the time).

I have the same seatpost, used the Planet Bike rubber mount so I could use my Superflash, worked perfectly:

It sure took me a while to reply! Thanks for the suggestion. I just ordered one.
