Very desirable, not a lot made, hard to find sold listing to compare pricing, but $$$

Looks like it was $2,700 new MSRP, does not tell you much about current value, just that is a very nice bike.

I would say the $750 they are asking is a fair, probably good price, for this condition.

Nice bike about as good as it gets for a vintage hard frame I would say a $1000 or so give or take maybe a bit more in a hot market or Ebay. I really like the paint and setup of the bike my only minor thing is they put heavy kind ugly black wall tires on the bike a bike this nice really should have nicer tires.

Yes -- those department store grade tires are cringe worthy on this bike- they were probably purchased at the same place as the seat.

. A classic PAnaracer Smoke/Dart combo is still available and would round this machine out nicely -- and a black Turbo saddle

Were it my size, i would be running and not walking at $750 - thats a good buy OP . You're not stealing it or anything, but that is a very solid deal

If it were local , i'd probably buy it anyway for $750 to salvage that cherry looking first generation XTR group and wheels for one of my projects and then try to re-coup that much again for the frameset. But after tinkering around with Italian bikes for years, my interest in vintage mountain bikes has been re-kindled for some reason - I blame it on the Klein road bike with the wild paint i picked up last winter

With those minor changes I could see $1200 cleaned and polished ready to ride.

I snagged the bike. My favorite Serotta color scheme, though I've only seen it on their road bikes until now. If anyone wants the XTR components let me know.

Glad someone got it. I wanted to but could never get any flexibility from the seller to meet - only weekdays later in the day - and that couldnt happen.

if you are selling the xtr group lmk the price, if you would.

I would be interested int he rear wheel......what are you going to do for components? curious what the serial number is on that, i wonder when they changed the cable routing? Man I would love to find an original rigid fork too. looks great enjoy I know I love how light mine is.

The seller was the worst seller I've ever interacted with. I viewed the purchase more as a hostage rescue. I'll let you know about the parts.

Yes these are light for a MTB it's because they went with top end regular size tubing and not the OS cho-mo that most MTB's hard frame were made with, which also allowed for much nicer cleaner brazing without the slight gap or tube smooshing you see with the different size tubes on a lot of MTB's.
