Longer than typical rear rack?

Hi all.

Does anyone know of or have a recommendation for a rear rack that's long enough to accommodate panniers with straps 14" apart? It seems like most rear racks are 12"-13" long, and if there are lower pannier bars, they're even shorter, but a lot of racks aren't provided with clear dimensions. The panniers have straps (rather than clips) and they are not adjustable laterally.

Thanks!

i bought a rack on taobao when i lived in china, building up an LKLM.
rear rack is 15" along the top.

unfortunately, without my china cell number, can't access my account.

rack is marked "WS" or "W5" with upper and lower rails.
maybe check alibaba for similar.

I don't have one here to measure, but I think the Axiom Streamliner DLX may be a little longer than most. I could be wrong though. Not sure where mine is. It must be on a bike that went with a friend or family member and is now among the missing. Maybe someone here has one and can check the length.

Alternately maybe you could either add an extension to the rack or sew a new strap(s) on the panniers. The rack extension could be as simple as a ~16" piece of wooden dowel or aluminum tubing and some cable ties.

A friend of mine had some cheap panniers from Performance, two hooks were riveted onto each for the top. On each pannier he had to drill out a rivet or two to move one hook to make it fit his rack.

My point is that if it is straps straps instead of hooks, perhaps you need a needle and thread to make it work on the generic rack.

What about fabricating a couple of rods that are long enough, and then putting closer straps on the rods?
Or get new panniers.
