I may have come into better deals, but none as cool as this Trek for $300 earlier this year from its original owner:
Already broke even on the resale of the frameset, hubs, bars/stem, and bottle/cage. Mounted the first gen Chorus crank and Brooks Pro on my Miyata. I use the long bag on occasion. The rest of the nice Campy stuff (seatpost, brakeset, pedals and derailleurs) is in my bin waiting on a 56cm frame.
My Miyata now.

I I don't recall any "good" deals in the way I think you mean, i.e. Confente-level stuff at Huffy prices. I have always pretty much paid or traded value to get value - and I'm fine with that.
To my way of thinking, my best deal was trading a 1986 De Rosa F/F/HS for a 1965ish Cinelii Speciale Corsa frame only (I already had a fork and a headset - long story told before). Some might think I came out on the short end of the deal. But I traded a frame that I really liked and that I thought rode really well for a frame that I had given up hope of finding (I'm a big boy, and it's a 64cm), that I think is the best riding frame I have ever been on. The De Rosa was a great frame, but the Cinelli feels better to me. I would make that trade again in a hearbeat.
Of course, if that De Rosa crossed my path at a Huffy-like price . . . .

The deal, like beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
$$$ wise it may have been this PX-10, $40, easily one of the best money deals I have gotten.
Campy record hubs, Deerhead derailleurs, original HS, binder bolt and cable clips all in great shape, Superbe brakes, Specialized touring pedals, and my size.
Best scores are all the Merz's that number 5 at this point, they weren't all cheap but just finding and acquiring them was huge for me.
First one was this 1978 complete original full touring in very good condition including Eclipse panniers that Jim customized the custom racks for, also in my size.
The second one a couple of weeks later JM027 is a 1974 mostly not original with the frame he built for himself, touring with racks and a later triple crank that he
customized when the owner before me had him build it up later on after the frame had been sold a couple of times.
These were "deals" to me just by getting my hands on them, they were not cheap but I would have payed even more if I had to.

I found a bag someone dropped, back when my neighbor was growing. Good stuff.
Best resell finds, hmmm. I stripped an $80 Trek TX500 with NR, came out ~$500 ahead. Old school bmx finds have done about the same. Last year I found a repainted '70s bmx the thrift store had for 75% off of $15. Turned out to have an early Tufneck stem, sold for $370.

I think I scored 395 on a five pin lane but I was only 10 at the time. An early 'Dude'
Toss up between a $15 complete '76 Supercourse MKII (in the faster red-white paint scheme) and the $80 SM 500 C-dale. Never mind the free bikes.

My Taylor tandem. An actual barn find, thrown on Ebay with local pickup only in northern NH. I remember sniping the auction and then getting the call from the seller during a loud holiday party to arrange pickup. So exciting!
I met the seller in a mall parking lot. I couldn't really believe it until I'd gotten it in the back of the Volvo.
Pictured more-or-less as-found, although I had replaced the rusty steel rims and cracked flat tires by the time I took this picture. 5-speed Cyclo, Maxicar, Lefol, first-gen MAFAC (written M.A.F.A.C.), Brampton, Stronglight, Simplex, GB, the whole package. I paid less for the whole bike than the rear hub is worth on its own.

This Schwinn Cimarron was a pretty good deal at $40
I picked this up at the flea market last Fall. I walked away from a great deal 3 different times, because honestly, I don't really need any more bikes. I believe that it's pretty much original and as found with the exception of the saddle.

Bought a broken Bike Friday New World Tourist for a buck 25. Put another 275 into it and sold it for 925.
3 Wheel sets. First was LF Campy Record with GP4 for 75. The second was NOS part build of Chorus hubs with Campy Strada aero for 150. Third are Campy Record 10V with Campy cassette and Ambrosia rims for 130.
Bike wise was the Colnago (4 components replaced), Pinarello complete (just clean up) for less than 5 bills. Third was the F/F/HS De Rosa.

Does a Freebie count?
My '86 Centurion Dave Scott Ironman. Free from my parent's garage; saved from the dump by my mother out of the neighbor's trash on the annual "We'll take anything day". She took it because there was a guy at church who fixed up old bikes for kids. Turns out that guy had moved away. And, I did a good deed for my parents because Dad was grumbling about junk going into the garage when they had just spent time throwing away junk.

That is a really special gift!
There are so many bikes on this planet that will never get ridden like that one was, the mismatched cranks, the different wheels, etc... All a testament to a bike that lived a full life.
I follow a facebook page for bike mechanics, and they post up all sorts of crap that comes in the door, usually terrible "fixes" done by the customer, but sometimes they post up some of the most worn out used up bike parts I've ever seen, I love those posts the most, brand new perfect bike parts will always make me smile, but thoroughly worn out used up bike parts are the only ones will always hold a special place in my heart :-)

This Raleigh Tourist DL-1 went for $7 at a live auction. It came with an extra set of pedals too. About 200 bikes a 3 hayracks of bike stuff and lots of bike people.
