Garmin Connect IQ apps that are worth it?

What apps have you found to be useful?

GRouteLoader does the same thing as the RWGPS app (which isn’t available for the 1030+). It does other stuff too. It also is available as a widget (which means you can use it while recording an activity).

(I mentioned this in the other thread but different people might see this thread.)

My Edge 2 works well on my 830 and has the power information I want on one screen. The small fonts are challenging to read (old guy) but bifocal sunglasses resolved that issue.

For randoneering I sometimes use one that tells me how much time ahead of cutoff I am. Though doing the math in my head keeps the boredom at bay.

Does that just go by distance and time? Some routes are long, but only have the time limits of the credited distance (200,300,etc).

Map dashboard.

Especially, if you have a large screen model like the 1030.

https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/8...f-9f10113b5276

There's a 4 field version and a 6 field version.

This splits one field into subfields. It's generally used to the map screen.

Yes it is just distance and time I believe, so you need to factor in any bonus km added by malicious route planners.

This data field uses the ACP-90 hour rules as described by RUSA (0-600km:15kph, 600-1000km:11.4kph, 1000-1300:13.3kph).

routeCourse - https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/b...3-474e97f376ac

Downloads routes over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi from many different places: connect.garmin.com, ridewithgps.com, strava.com, mapmyride.com, mapmyrun.com, outdooractive.com, bikemap.net, openrunner.com, runnermaps.nl, mtbproject.com, hikingproject.com and trailrunproject.com. Also can directly upload GPX, TCX, KML and KMZ files.

Uploading is done from https://dynamic.watch/ website. Help: https://dynamicwatch.zendesk.com/hc/...11-routeCourse
IMHO this is by far the best way to upload routes. No need to play with separate apps from different services, this one supports pretty much everything. If you pay premium (one-time payment of $29.99) then there are some extra features (https://dynamic.watch/premium).

BTW, they also have related app dwMap (https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/2...c-57acc7ce4870) which I find useful for navigation (e.g. hiking) on devices that don't officially support navigation (like my Garmin Venu 2 watch).
