Arkel fastening info

Just wanted to let anyone out there know that if you have an older set of Arkel panniers and was thinking of upgrading to the cam system Arkel still sells them but they're not listed on the website. You may want to send them an email and hopefully they send you a link to purchase them.

That's it. I was informed by an Arkel employee that they weren't listed on their website and he sent me this... https://www.arkel-od.com/cam-lock-hook-kit-pair/ Compared to the one you have listed there's a huge difference in price...

One link is for a unit, the other for a pair, hence the price difference.
Don't own arkels that use this system, but from playing with arkel panniers, their system is very robust and well made.

Yes, that's a fair point. I had emailed Arkel asking if they sold them separately. Guess I hadn't looked on their website and got a little mixed up on the communication with the worker. I guess this thread is kind of a moot point now...

When I bought my Arkel GT-54s I ordered a set of their system to make my own and I did and they are great though mounting and work for my needs as a smaller rear or a waterproof front though I maybe wish I had gone with the full matched set but I so rarely use front panniers which is my laziness in not wanting to install and take off the Tubus racks each time and sometimes use the bike where a front rack would make it difficult to use on a bike rack.

I'm in the market for a front rack and have looked to see what's out there. I hadn't thought of it interfering with locking up to a rack so that's food for thought. I think that the old system Arkel used to fasten their racks might do for the foreseeable future. I need to get out of the habit of replacing things that don't need to be replaced...
