Damn. This is going to sound sacrilegious, but I'm a little disappointed that the forecast for tomorrow (one of my usual ride days) no longer calls for rain for most of the day. I was somewhat looking forward to being shut in and having no excuses for not getting some work done in the shop. I really need to finish up a magnetic knife strip, and make a test drawer, among a bunch of other things.

There are a lot of people out there who are rookies at videoconferencing. We had a sort of meeting last night to discuss progress in a local offshore wind farm, and we had hosts that for some reason weren't able to mute the participants, and participants that didn't know that they should have muted themselves (despite several requests from the host - I guess some of them didn't understand the request, and ignored it).
Then again, years ago we had a company-wide meeting (back when they were audio only), and I heard someone snoring on an unmuted microphone. Never did figure out who it was. Can't say that I blame them - those meetings were always incredibly boring.

Indeed. Last week we had a division-wide Zoom meeting on...how to use Zoom. And no one could figure out why the meeting had been scheduled. It turned out to just be for the one person that couldn't figure out how to use the chat function. Ironically, the IT guy that was supposed to be assisting also couldn't get his computer to work that day. So ~40 people online for 30 minutes for 1 person's tutorial.

While having my finger dressed this morning, I noted two things. 1) It looks almost like a normal finger again, and 2) there is a much bigger bit of it, uncut, than I had previously thought. According to the surgeon, this bit contributes greatly to the healing process. It's beginning to appear that it may yet return to full function. Mindblowing. We've come to the point where we can space out for a second and amputate a finger. And a few months later it has been re-attached and returned to full function. One of these days we'll see them doing it with organs!

Ice cream has been one of my favorite foods throughout my life. I haven't had any in ages. Sadly, there is zero ice cream available in Tixkokob which contains even a hint of dairy product.

Heck the size of appendectomy scars across my lifetime has shrunken amazingly. Not that I’ve had it done personally.
Though hey, anyone know what an appendix weighs?
