Dusk/night quasi-jogging activity.
I thought I would see more Christmas light action than I did.
There was only a handful of cars on the entire Catholic campus, which is rare. But I did see what looked to be one student with his dad/coach in the weight room, lifting away. Same vibes. #ProjectDeFatten

We were told that in driver education, about 1969. It's probably always been true considering how much macho bs is involved with driving a stupid car.

fwiw I drive "like a grandma" most of the time. I had a neighbor try to pass me on our street as I was going less than the speed limit (25).
I stay out of the fast lane when the freeways are open. I'm only willing to go 70-75 (speed limit is 65) when lots of drivers are doing 75-80 and some are at 80+. These speeds make for some horrific crashes.

I've been doing little diversions from my 55 mile Sunday route recently. Today I went right instead of left, heading up Page Mill. Page Mill is a nasty climb I used to do once a year just to prove I could. It's long, and there are a couple places that are both steep and completely exposed to the sun. For 3 years running, I'd get to this one steep pitch and think, "If there's shade around this corner, I'm gonna stop and rest a bit", but there is no shade.
First year, that's what I thought.
Second year, I thought that again, but realized I'd had the same thought at the same place before, and there was no shade.
Third year, I thought, "If there's some shade around this.....WAIT A MINUTE! I've done this before, and there IS NO SHADE!!!!"
Anyway, this time I only went up as far as Altamont Rd, and took that to descend back to Foothill. Last time I road this was probably 12 years ago. But I remembered there's a really bad corner, where 12 years ago, one of the riders on a Bike Forums NorCal group ride had gone down - nobody saw it, they just came around the corner and there he was, unconscious, with his Litespeed stuffed under the guardrail. So I was hyper cautious! I found the corner, which is actually TWO lefts in quick succession - there's a steep drop off, then the first turn, which is simultaneously 1) descending, 2) severely off camber, and 3) decreasing radius. You get through it, straighten up, and there's ANOTHER one just like it. The rest of the descent isn't too bad, but after those turns I took the rest pretty gently. I was glad to be riding the Canyon with the disc brakes, but I have ridden it before with just dual pivots and managed not to kill myself.

I need this in my life.

I must assume that's not near Altamont Speedway.

I was never in the left lane, or the lane next to the left lane.

Mine drove a 53 Dodge then traded it in for a 69 Valiant. Low miles on both. The one in Scotland didn't drive, but my Grandfather there drove a Mini panel. Grandfather here drove a tandem dump until he didn't feel like it anymore.
I stay out of the left lane until I need to pass.

Spent about 8 hours on interstates this weekend. Only got in the right lane to exit. Typically 80+ mph (speed limit 75).

I'm on the freeway about 40 minutes a day 6 days a week lately. Never in the fast lane but I usually cruise at 75 whether I'm in a 65, 60 or 55 zone.
I still get passed all the time.

A friend is in Nashville and I'm following the pic stream. Love the John Prine mural at Grimey's records.

We each have our own kitchen. They're both full of dirty dishes atm.
My flow in the wood shop has become quite good. Not fast by any stretch, but the flow is good. The bench still gets cluttered but cleans up quickly. There's a mortise marked out and waiting to be chopped as we speak.
In fact it's the wood shop that's keeping me off the bike. I'd rather be in there. I'm replacing our six worn out dining room chairs one by one. It is hoped that the sixth will go faster and more smoothly than the first.

Spent an hour on the interstate this weekend. LSS does the driving, often in the left lane, and I’ve learned not to look at the speedo. I drive like big john ’s grandma.
