Where did you ride in Southern California today?

So I rode with a friend today, who unfortunately is a bit slow. Ooops!
I rarely frequent this forum since it seems no one is in my area (weird considering I am in LA, the second biggest city in the country), but I just wanted to say that is a great website. Life goals! I actually did one of the top epic rides in the world this summer, according to that list, and it truly was epic.

^the sequoia np and thereabouts rides/pics you’ve posted in this thread and the “empty road ahead” road cycling thread are inspiration for a little visit in the near future.

Sunday I rode from Mission Trails to Alpine and back, my longest ride to date, about 40 miles - 3.5 hours round trip. I thought it would be a little tougher actually, although I did spend a fair amount of time in my grannie gear. Really enjoyed it
Looking forward to doing it again soon, maybe stretching it to Pine Valley one of these days.

noodled and toodled 26 miles around metro san diego fresh off vacation at altitude in lake tahoe and new mexico.
thought the time at altitude would help a bit on a few of the small climbs today. no. just no.

On Saturday friends and I rode from Anaheim Canyon to Rouleur Brewery in Carlsbad. Great day to be on a bike! It was a bit concerning when we missed the last Metrolink out of Oceanside but Amtrak saved the day with a train to Fullerton then Metrolink back to Riverside.

Mostly off the bike for about a year and a half due to injury causing nerve damage in left leg. Did 26 miles yesterday from Mira Costa College in Oceanside to Sorrento Valley to catch the Coaster train back to downtown Oceanside, then 8 mile back home. This 35 miles is the farthest I have ridden in one day since the injury. A fall, and the Speedplay didn't unclip. Ripped the peroneal nerve, partially paralyzing the left foot instep to big toe. Getting motion back slowly, and still not real comfortable standing on the pedals.

^welcome back! biggest changes while you were gone was the addition of a second (yes, you read that right) uphill bike
lane on torrey pines grade and completion of a really nice dedicated bike path from sorrento valley up to ucsd...including a bridge over genesee.
no more riding up or down the 5 fwy between ucsd and sorrento valley.

I'm off the bike for several days and it's killing me. I cut a finger pretty bad and it's just not going to hold up bouncing around while I ride my bike. Hopefully I'll be back up by Sunday.

Nothing too exciting, just riding around the local hills of La Habra Heights, Turnbull Cyn and looping back to Hacienda Heights. Good turnout of riders along East-West Rd.
https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/4086201717
I had a little more resistance than usual. My rear rotor on the 29er was squealing a bit. Really felt it going up Ardsheal Drive. Time to get the bike serviced.

metro san diego. 37 miles. biggest thrill was having a broski visibly blabbing on a cell phone driving a range rover and blowing through a stop sign directly in front of me.
second biggest thrill was blowing through a dtown stop light (after stopping and trackstanding for 5 seconds or so) with a po-po vehicle caddy corner from me in the shade (honestly didn't see him).
