I don’t know if it’s lined.
I have no idea if anyone makes a tube small enough to fit and still allow the cable to pass through.
It seems like it should have something protecting the hole edge from the cable cutting it. The front derailleur cable won’t be moving very often but I don’t know if carbon fiber is resistant to abrasion.

That Park Tool is .." cool"

I only have one bike with an internal cable. It runs on the top tube only.

Hope I never need to replace it

Good Luck and be patient .

Excellent info and knowledge !!!!

Ideally, there should be something to protect it from abrasion, but practically speaking, it will take a really long time for it to erode enough to be a problem. And FWIW, there are cable liners you can use for this. If you don't need 30m worth, your LBS ought to be able to supply a short section for you.

My lbs gave me a 10 foot piece off a huge roll for 3 bucks USD when I told him I only needed about a foot for through the BB, FWIW=comes in more than one size internal dia. for different cables. IE: brake, shifter, etc. This stuff even had lubricant inside it.

I was psyched out fir nothing.
My wife came up with a tube that almost worked but didn’t.
I figured what the heck and cut yhe cable and pulled it through. I stabbed the new cable through on the first try. I then had to pull it back out and route it through the plastic guide then stabbed it through again.
I test rode it for a minute but it doesn’t shift. I will figure out how to adjust it tomorrow.

I have a 2014 Specialized Roubaix. The front derailleur hasn’t been working so i looked it over. When i pulled on the end of the cable to see if it was loose the last inch or so broke off.
Take this opportunity to '86 the front derailleur entirely and go to a 1X drive train.
