I was buying my pup the boutique kibble and then had to coax her to eat it.
Finally caved and got her the grocery store brand cheap stuff and she gobbles it up.

What is it with bike people and cats? Or, is it just the interwebz part of the equation?

I've heard it explained this way, "A dog thinks: Hey, those people I live with feed me, love me, provide me with a nice warm, dry house, pet me, and take good care of me.....They must be gods! A cat thinks: Hey, these people I live with feed me, love me, provide me with a nice warm, dry house, pet me, and take good care of me...I must be a god."

So maybe the question should be, What is it with cats and bike people?

My kitty was doing the same thing. When I spoke to my vet about it, he mentioned that to a cat, the boutique stuff was like us eating bland but nutritious meals but the cheap stuff is like Cinnamon Toast Crunch to them

maybe a sliiiiight exaggeration there, but I got the point

Years ago a lady down the street came over for some kitchen related reason, I don't recall. (Possibly fudge). She never had pets and didn't want any. When we got to the kitchen, quite naturally one of the cats hopped up on the kitchen table to investigate just like they do when we bring groceries in. She was so horrified and visibly shuddering she couldn't get out of the house fast enough and never came back. Had a big laugh about it with her husband later.

I think part of the cyclists and cats thing is that we spend hour upon hour riding and not at home. Cats are good with that whereas a dog will need to go outside.

Yea, I ride to the gym or downtown or something. Usually out no more than 2 or 3 hours.

Kind of looks like my house. Come home with a paper bag and within a few minutes of the bag being emptied of goods the bag becomes home to the cat.

My fighting cat resting up this evening. Getting ready for his fighting matches usually at 3AM! Waking me up going outside to break up a fight.

Ignacio has held fighting championships in multiple weight classes. Now retire!
