Addiction 2022.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

quite a few east coast states look like they may have already peaked. I don't think AZ is there yet...

That feeling when you're shopping used goods online, you see one with a lower price, and you wonder if there's something wrong with it that you're missing.

The other day, I was looking for handlebars. One place had them for $15 cheaper than anyone else. With a $15 shipping charge.

Rain in the city. Missed the local news so I don’t know if it’s still supposed to change to snow, but it’s going to get frigid tonight. AM windchill of 4 tomorrow.

Our wind chill temps won't get above 0ºF today and actual temp below zero tonight.

I don't know how are resident Minnesotan and Michigander s handle it.

Regarding COVID19 data:

Incidence/cases have clearly peaked in some areas (like the NE), It is probably peaking this week in other areas. Hospital use lags about 1 week behind cases, and deaths likely more like 2 week lag.

That said, I am optimistic that the covid situation in most areas of the usa will be much better by early to mid February. Where it goes from there is anybody's guess.

Exactly, especially since we seem to be leaving our fate to the whims of genetic drift, rather than strengthening our defenses.
