Nothing absurd about setting up the tent under a shelter. During my tour last month I got two Adirondack shelters at campgrounds due to the threat of rain at night. It’s the smart play.

Well as you see we became addicted to it! But a shelter for your shelter is inherently absurd!

Burlington, VT back in September. There was a period of rain the first day I was there. Everything stayed nice and dry. This was a city park, but a lot of the state parks have similar shelters. I stayed in one that tour and in two back in 2018.

Yes that's pretty good shelter for your shelter, and I didn't know it had become a feature of campgrounds. By the way, that looks like a nice full mesh summer tent. What brand is it? Ours reached end of life on this trip so I am looking for a replacement but the same model became ultralight which is too delicate.
