Hello! What an honour to meet me!
Greetings from Toronto!
I dream of bikes. They appear in my dreams. Just the thought of riding is exciting. I have been lurking for quite a while and reading the informative posts all you good people put forth.
Since youth, I’ve always found interest in bicycles; as art, as a mechanical curiosity, as a vehicle. Tinkering by need, I had to learn how to repair a bike at an early age. Now I tinker for fun.
I have a love for crappy bikes from the 1980’s and 1990’s. Rigid steel and basic Shimano get my gears going, but then again I get their gears going, too. So it’s totally fair.
Currently, I have a few bikes: 1981 Raleigh Record Ace road bike; 1985? Raleigh Portage Mountain Bike; 1993? Scott Adventure Peak; 1989? Raleigh Summit; and some other beater bikes.
Ironically, I cannot ride much at all because of medical conditions. At best, I gather a friend or two and bike up the street and back. If I do that, it’s a great day! One day I plan to hit the trails with a good group of people, because with a bad group it wouldn’t be so fun.
Until then, I will tinker and dream. Nice to meet you, thanks for reading, and have a bike-tastic day!

Welcome aboard ! You have some nice bikes. I also like vintage bikes. I also "tinker" :-) with them. My favorite bike is a 1984 Trek 770 Has the original Campy Record gear, including downtube shifting. I am in the process of restoring it to its original glory.

Thanks! I looked up the Trek 770 and I haven’t seen many vintage road bikes by Trek, so that’s a good one to restore.
