Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

cardio and wights are fine. The longer the fast the less strenuous exercise. Between 1-3 days of fasting I ride 25-40 miles.

The nautical terms are definitely old and have legit etymologies, except for terms like "down****er" for foreguy.

Good ride despite the smoky haze and humid conditions. Beats work by many orders of magnitude.

I've seen pairs of blackbirds harassing crows who stray too close to their nest in the wrong season. Last month I saw a pair of crows similarly harassing a hawk. In both cases, the smaller birds are far more maneuverable. It's like fighter planes going after a bomber, but with the bomber not having turret guns.

Usually alive according to the dictionary (had to look up the word):

a person of a specified kind, especially one regarded as unfortunate.
"he always was an unlucky wight"

Is there one amongst us?

Is that what they call people from the Isle of Wight?

BTW, Isle of Wight MC racing is supposed to go down in a couple months...

Valid comparison. We've had one particular mockingbird in our yard for a couple of years now. He's ruthless with the crows, and makes a squawk when he's in battle mode that I haven't heard from another one of his species. We call him Steve. Steve is a badass.

Alternatively: a spirit, ghost, or other supernatural being.

Yes, I see mocking birds attacking crows from time to time. Also the cats (when they were around).

Very bad behaviour by our Tennessee state bird.

First you usurp our burnt orange, now our Mockingbird. Can't your state come up with its own stuff and stop copying?
