Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

True. The neighbors tend to complain a lot more when you do it in their pool.

When it's over 100 all day it feels good to get in the pool. Sometimes I would just hang my feet in there. Doesn't have to be for exercise.

And pool parties? OMG! Nothing like having a bunch of bikinis in your backyard. I rented (shared) a house with a pool in the 70s. Good times and the last thing we thought about was exercise.

CEO SAYS:
CHANGES COMING
AUGUST 1st

Happy Friday! Hello and thank you for being a valued customer. We hope this email finds you well.
We are writing to update you with some important changes coming August 1st.
Everyone at Bikesdirect.com works very hard to bring the best bicycles at the best possible prices. Our CEO who has always fought hard against price increases. The entire bicycle industry has been raising prices. Due to skyrocketing materials costs, parts shortages, container, freight and shipping charges we cannot absorb anymore.
Why is the entire bike industry raising prices up to 30% or more? Container transport costs are a large factor in addition to higher parts costs. Before the pandemic, transporting one container was $3,000 to $5,000. Each holds 300 to 350 bikes. That is about $17 per bike. Recently, prices skyrocketed to $21,000. That is $70 per bike.
https://gcaptain.com/2021-container-rates-surge/
https://tamebay.com/2021/07/the-ship...come-down.html
The entire bike industry has already been raising prices up to 30%. Starting August 1st, Bikesdirect.com will be raising prices of many bikes.
For over 20 years Bikesdirect.com continues to be the largest American family owned online bike retailer. Our deals will continue to be the best bang for buck anywhere even after August 1st.
Any chance that is true? I'm not from around here.

There were two pools in my little town. The neighbors had one that wasn't heated, so it always felt cold to me. But they were really friendly and happy to let us swim there, unless they were hosting a party. The one across town (all of 300 yards away, if that) was heated, using the heat from the A/C for the main house. Generally I liked that one better, but there was one really HOT day when the neighbors were hosting a party, so we went over to the heated one. It was like bathwater. It was worse than the air!

My company is in the business of building swimming pools (large competition pools, not residential). There have been a couple of times we have built pools in desert areas where the mechanical systems have included equipment to cool the water.

It's only warm enough to get in a pool three months out of the year here.

I ran those at 85F and 95R and you are much lighter than me. You'll be fine under 100. I also would get 4,000 miles of tread life.

Big John is dreaming about the distant past!

I’d like nothing less than a bunch of 60 and 70 year olds in bikinis in my pool.

Peanut butter isn't a good filling in anything.

Peanut butter is a good filling in just about everything.

Cut approximately 1.17 lawns in 32 minutes of furious activity in 94 degree heat. I'll be cutting 4 days in a row to get the lawns back to the appropriate height. What have I done with this battery-powered boondoggle? SMFH.

Or, with proper equipment, you could have it done in 75 minutes.
