64 Bianchi Specialissima

I haven't been following the market all that closely lately but I'm starting to think about doing some serious downsizing. I will probably be selling most of my collection over the next 6 months. There have been no transactions on anything very close to this on Ebay in awhile and thought maybe the audience here would have some input.

It's a '64 Bianchi Specialissima, all original, except for maybe the seat and consumables. Paint and chrome is in good shape. It is a 58cm ctc frame. Fully serviced and ready to ride.

Looking for an estimate on an online sale price as I have no local market to speak of. So a sale here or on CR or on Ebay (I'll add 15% for Ebay fees).

Hi Jim - for what it’s worth, I sold this 1964 Speciallisima on EBay about 1-1/2 years ago for $1200. Your bike is a beauty; the paint on yours looks to be in better condition than mine was. Hope this helps; I know that these don’t come up for sale often

orcas island thanks. Very useful info. I have sold a few bikes on Ebay in the past year and it has seemed that high end, name brand bikes are bringing very good money. My Masi Special sold within a few hours of listing and I also sold a Gios Professional at a very good price. But "lower" end bikes seem to be moving a bit slower.

Great looking bike I would say this one should get a bit of a premium that said with whole bicycle shipping being in total hell right now with prices way up and shipping times way down which knocks a couple of hundred off a bike of this level. I would say $1200-1300. If your no in a hurry to sell if you wait tell the better spring summer season for sales when shipping will likely be better in 6 months or so you could likely get $1500-1600.

If that bike were 2cm taller I would tell you it's worth $1,500 and offer to send you a check and save you the trouble of listing it!
Like you, I am under the impression that top end bikes are commanding a pretty penny these days. I think $2,000 is not far off the mark, but you may have to wait patiently for the right buyer to come along. There seems to be a much bigger market for bikes from the seventies than from the sixties. For those buyers Super Record trumps Nuovo Record trumps Record.
