Addiction 2021.4

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Suggest to the owner of the best one that he open a franchise in west Knox County, TN.

Christmas Dinner achievement unlocked. It was good. The Younger Boy made the stuffing (I helped, because he does not have my Mad Knife Skillz and he'd still be working on the damn celery NOW if I didn't), and The Older Boy, who really did a number on his right shoulder, made the gravy.

Mrs. GeneJockey even got The Boys, who are currently feuding, to sit down with her and do a jigsaw puzzle. It's a Festivus Miracle!

Lately when I hit the login button, I'm taken to the terms of service page
I had to drop off of my woodworking forum because the site simply doesn't work, in my world. Buttons disappear. HTML overlays. Bot interference. Etc. Also because I'm backing away from the internet in general.

The weather was nasty here, freezing rain etc. spent the whole day family-ing which was deeply enjoyable. Going out today for a metric probably, or at least close to one though I doubt I’ll hit the full 500 in time.

This was one of the years where the kids were with me for Christmas morning. It was awesome. They opened all of their gifts and played most of the morning before they had to go to their mom’s at 2.

My wife and I had planned on making Paella for dinner but ended up just eating the rest of our appetizers. We played about 4 games of hand and foot, some trivial pursuit and killed a bottle of gin.

was a good day

I drank a lot of coffee yesterday. My wife got an electric kettle for her tea but I can use it for the gallons of coffee I drink. Thank God I've mixed it 2/3 decaf and 1/3 regular.

Let me repeat, I did not take a nap on the 24th or 25th. It wasn't my idea.

I'm optimistic that I'll get to 500 again, though I can already feel the fatigue piling on. I'll get in a light spin later today to keep on pace and loosen the legs, but I might need to bear down for one or two more 100+km rides next week.

If I had vacation this week I totally could. I’m going to need to do 50 a day to get there, which is a bit of a stretch
