Here is the (I think) 1973 Schwinn Fastback that was less-than-stock-repainted (but original chainguard). It's "technically" mine, but I lent it to one of my nephews a long time ago , so I guess it's really his now. I cleaned it up, etc. and the Schwinn shop I worked in at the time had the 20 x 1-3/8 Schwinn S-6 blackwall tires in stock so I gave him those as future replacements if he needed them to replace the whitewalls; I figured they might be hard to find soon. It had original pedals as well, just not in the picture. I actually got this for four dollars at a neighbor's garage sale back in the late 1990's, before everyone really started collecting these.

Picked up this '87 'Hopper, minus wheelset, just before things locked down. Wheelset is borrowed, I forget what from. Lotta nicks/scratches, waiting for me to find the right shade (and dedicate the time).

Has the dreaded chainstay-mount U-brake, but the color-keyed stem is just adorbs, and of course the yummy Deore 6-speed thumbies.

I picked up one of these a few years back also in yellow. I rebuilt it for my nephew who rode in Washington DC for 4 years when he was in college. Somehow he managed to hold on the bike and he's still riding it.

I'm in a college town (instant townie), yeah, I get the sense that getting through 4 years of college without your bike getting stolen/trashed is an accomplishment in itself. Good for him.

The old Schwinn roadies above reminded me; 'course, this might be grounds for disqualification, since my wife bought it expressly to flip (just listed). '75 LeTour, Bridgestone-built, all original "Schwinn Approved" except the tires and salmon Kool-Stops:

Photo of a photo. About 10 years ago, I left my old Trek 360 on the front porch one morning and this was the result.

Yep, sold it later that month, unlikely buyer, middle-age guy who bought it to commute to work on a rural road, not a "bike guy" at all. But he wanted it (shrug). He re-sold it this spring on CL.

For years I regretted selling my '72 Gitane Tour de France after finishing college..bought it my senior year in high school in '73 because a PX-10 was $70 too expensive, and I wanted some color.
Then 45 years later, Craigslist saved the day and brought back wonderful memories, along with a level of fitness I haven't realized for decades!
