Hey Gilberto, welcome back buddy! - If your previous posts are anything to go by you're probably training for a mission to tale every lightweight European bike back to the US! Whatever you're busy with, very good luck with it. Hope you're successful and return full time to these hallowed web pages as soon as possible - I miss the frisson of pure envy every time you post a new acquisition!

Eddy Merckx sold the company last year so that he could retire. Bikes this year are made by the new company but they still have some nice offerings.

Thank you for the info.

I use Veloflex Pave clinchers on two of my bikes, and really can't say enough about the high quality.

Do you ride these tubs as "everyday" tires, or just high speed training?

Also, where do you get your best price on Veloflex tires if you don't mind?

You even have to look twice to realize it has Ergos and modern Campy on it.

Here is my 1990 or 1991 Merckx Corsa Extra. Bought the frame from a person who got it new from Colorado Cyclist in 1994 and kept it in the box the whole time. It still had the original factory foam wrap around the frame with Eddy Merckx branded packing tape! I built it up with full (mostly NOS) 10-speed Campagnolo Chorus.

You did a great job on a beautiful bike.

Tell us a little more about the frame when you get a chance, if you would please. Maybe some close up pics as well.

Dontcha' just love 10 speed Chorus!

I put it on my Sintesi and was very pleased with the performance for the money.

Thanks gomango! The frame is a 60cm seat tube c-t-c, top tube 58 c-t-c. The serial number is 0X-7176-C. "0X" denotes a 60cm Corsa Extra, the "C" narrows it down to a 1990 or 1991 birth date, and who knows what the 7176 means?

The frame is Columbus SLX with Eddy Merckx forged rear dropouts. The bike as shown above with pedals and bottle cages weighs in at about 21 lbs.

A few frame close ups:

The 10-speed Chorus is the best stuff I have ever used. Shifting is flawless every time, I love it.

Much nicer than my Century, and that is super clean as well.

I have a Corsa Extra frameset that I picked up locally that doesn't compare to yours, yet is very nice in its own right.

Again, thanks for the pics and congrats on a beautiful bike.
