PLP = Path Less Pedaled

It is a YouTube channel about bikes. Pretty good in my opinion although I'm not subscribed and only watch if I happen upon something interesting.

Chip left to start his own band. Dale married Yoko's sister, which drove a wedge in the relationship.

The guy named Grant in the video seems a little opinionated. Hope that doesn’t cause any trouble for him.

Thank you. It's a pet peeve, I suppose, when I come across an uncommon acronym used without an initial identification - they become sorta like inside jokes on a public forum.

After your post, I pulled up the video on YouTube and noted the content provider was Path Less Pedaled. Tho I still don't know if I'd have noted the connection unless it had been pointed out (I can be a little thick)

Right? I bet he's sure not popular with the racer crowd since according to him they're all riding their bikes incorrectly

Fleeing was on a friction shifted bike while wearing sandals and wool

I occasionally read/listen to Grant just out of curiosity to see what kind of unique opinions he'll come out with. This video did not disappoint: "Personally I think the best designed derailers, ever, were the Shimano rapid rise derailers of the early 90's and later the early 2000's."

I think Grant more personable than I had pictured for him in my head, given him being some's Messiah and all. Opinionated people are the best conversationalist, assuming they don't go full on evil genius on you, and endlessly monologue. And you have to leave a small part of you heart for those who become famous, without the rich part being part of the journey... well, at least I do, being raised right, and always rooting for underdogs.

Well, he certainly wouldn't claim to be.

I live a 20-30 minute drive away from Rivendell and have been there a number of times. I've even spoken with The Man himself a few times (he wouldn't claim to be that, either). I once told him that the on-line forum world seems to be split into two camps, the "Grant Petersen is a genius" camp and the "Grant Petersen is an idiot" camp. He got the faintest hint of a grin on his face and said "I'm pretty sure I'm neither."

Ha ha - I don't think he's either one, neither

My take is he's got opinions on bikes - and cycling in general - and isn't afraid to voice and/or act upon them. I agree with some of those opinions, disagree with others. It's all good - but that "Safety Pizza" on his posterior has to go!

Agreed, took me awhile to figure out the pizza but I think it brilliantly conveys his uhh, esoteric? sense of humor.

He spoke at a couple of Revelo shop events that I went to, he's entertaining if nothing else.

It also brings up a very good point imho, a rearender on a bike can easily be a life changing or ending event. While we seem to focus more on whats in front of us that we have arguably more control over being able to see it coming. The back end is where we're really vulnerable and literally not going to know what hit you.

I run 3 tailights, one with camera 24/7 and seem to have very good luck so far, knock wood.
