Nelson Vails, the spinter, was in the movie as well. I got his autograph at one of the Bicycle trade shows when I worked at a Schwinn Shop on Long Island NY. I somehow lost that picture (along with the one I got from John Tomac).

Yes. It inspired me to continue to ride my bicycle as transportation and exercise during my later impressionable years (aka, college). In my earlier years, I had a group of room mates to ride with, but in the last few years, I was a "lone wolf". Here was this movie that reflected my life circumstances (sorta) and gave me encouragement. No matter how much individualism someone may have, reflectional conformational reassurance can be comforting. I lost a small fortune gambling on risky stocks, hit hard times, shaved my cheezy mustache, hocked my pinky ring for a single speed, and adopted a beret, like Nelson Vails, that I wore as the indoor cover for my otherwise "helmet haired" head (all of that is lies, accept the beret). I'm sure I looked like a dork, but, it felt cool, at the time.

In 2021 I was living in an upstairs loft converted from an old industrial warehouse while still bike messenging for my BIL. Losing a lot as my marriage tanked and finances vanished during the seperation.
So many late night diners to search out for coffee and kooky downtown characters for company.

The film has moments where it comes to life when it threatens to tell a story about interesting people, then wanders into crazy scenes designed just to sell records. Yesterday I had a "fight" with my friend and I was saying that it is not as worthy as he says. I made so many arguments, for example, the possible better bike model that Kevin Bacon could have chosen. Now I'm sure Kevin would make better choices)) In general, I draw some conclusions about movies after reading essay examples on their topics and character analysis. For instance, on https://graduateway.com/essay-examples/12-angry-men/ I found an interesting take on the idea of whether the jury has a reasonable doubt about the main character's guilt. I read the "12 Angry Men" film review and then it was easier to understand the essence. It's the same with the "Quicksilver" movie or any other ones.

I saw this movie in 86 when I was like 12. I was really into BMX and lived in the midwest, but I was set on becoming a bike messenger someday. I moved to Seattle in 1994 and messengered until 2007.

Apparently, this poster was at a subway station in Forest Hills, Queens -- 71 St. and Continental Ave. and was uncovered when a booth that had been installed against the wall was removed. When it hit social media, it was 'liberated' by an employee at a bike shop in Brooklyn called King Kog.
