I think I have metal clips currently attached to Shimano 600 pedals that would fit. PM me if interested.

Sactown_Albert, Schweinhund, and L134,
Rule number Five is pretty clear about removing items to send to others. As CrapMaster I must assess a foul for breaking the rule. I will confer with previous CrapMasters to determine the penalty.
The game is designed for those who will sign up to play, if you want to participate please sign up. CrapMaster Honk

What is your addy? I will send a nice shimano rd-6208 and crappy (but very smooth) Quando 8 speed hub as penance.
Also have a pretty decent MF-HG20 if that's preferred over the Quando.

Hi guys, just a reminder that taking items for another technically violates rule #5. Not sure how the current Crapmaster would see it, but I always liked to provide a gentle reminder. Crap on everyone!

Edited: I see the current Crapmaster has responded.

I'm pretty sure I put a set of metal toe clips for those pedals in the BoC the last time it passed through. Did someone take them when I wasn't looking?

Just for reference. What is the volumetric capacity of the large flat rate box?

If by "volumetric capacity" you mean "volume", I get 882 cubic inches based on the dimensions listed on the USPS website. Filled with osmium, it would weigh 723 pounds. Your letter carrier would probably get a hernia or two trying to move it.

See, that's the rub, he didn't take them out for me, he took them out to replace them with better stuff.
I saw then after he removed them and asked him if he had plans for them.

Perhaps some "CRAP" was saved from the land fill or the broken crap that overflows from my local LBS......As often said, one persons "crap" is another person different "crap".
LPCM's sort it out.
Best, Ben

Again this is a reminder for folks to sign up to play the game. The list has grown pretty short and the exalted Box O' Crap may be halted in it's progress of providing "Crap" to the C&V community. Anyone wishing to play please sign up. Smiles, CrapMaster Honk

After some clarification, I understand the rules a bit better and think they are worth repeating. In order to participate in the "game", one must sign-up with the Crap Master to be put on the list to be a "playing" member of the "Box of Crap"....not just a BF member. After signing up the "new" player will be put in the queue (NOT next in line!) to play the game.
One can't just read the thread and ask to be sent the cast offs from the BOC that are removed for one reason or another.
This ensures equity for all.
Carry On.
Best, Ben

As a Crapmaster Emeritus, I can comment with pure authority that it is bad form to flaunt breakage of the rules. The Crapmaster is all knowing, all powerful, and never wrong. All authoritative regimes follow this simple rule.

Do not get caught breaking the rules, or someday you'll be riding along, minding your own business and pffffffffffffffft... flat tire. That will be the Crapmaster at work.

Happy to report that the infamous BOC has landed in PA. I won't get to it until tomorrow afternoon or evening, but I do have the photographic proof.

Thanks, MH! It's a sweet story. I have two stepsons that were raised in the suburbs of Boston, and as young men now they both are in NYC. The elder has ridden a single-speed to get around for the last 7 years or so. Now at the ripe old age of 31 he's come to think that some gears may be Good Thing. Right about then Neal put Ted up in the Sales sub-forum. I thought that would be a great start for a stealth commuter and grabbed it.

My son is a huge sports guy and loyal to his home town teams. He's that guy in the Red Sox hat and jersey at Yankee Stadium talking trash when the Sox come to play against the Bombers. When I tell him that I picked up a cool vintage frame built from top-quality steel that was sold by Sears under the Ted Williams brand he was lit: "Ted Williams, as in the greatest Hall of Famer ever has a bike named after him? SOLD!" I'm bringing it to him on Monday.

Andy,
If your son is a Sox fan, he is probably aware of one of my friend's grandson Nathan who was transferred in right before the World Series. In his first outing with them he pitched for eight innings of no hitter ball and realized that he was pulled before pitching longer to be sure he was just another team player. If I remember right he started two of the series games. He is a great kid and has a great family with his high school sweetheart. Smiles, MH

In person rummaging has begun, and it is an interesting collection. The box is beginning to tear a bit, so I'll grab a new one before sending on to jdawginsc. The teaser:

A few strategic hammer blows this morning, and the liner is, well, a little less mangled. The crap is now all packed up and will be on its way to the next contestant probably this afternoon sometime. The haul:

Yes, I have liberated the Sekine dork disc. It was time. It will now hang somewhere in my workshop.

Lurkers and fence sitters, just look at what you miss out on when you pass up the opportunity to engage the notorious Box O' Crap. You never know if you don't play the game, and contrary to the rumors, repacking this thing is big fun!

Nooooooo...the pie plate.....

Funny I had decided to do the same thing with it. Make it part of a project. At least it has a good home!

Yes, the world's finest pie plate will be well taken care of in its retirement.

The Box is in the possession of the USPS, off to warmer temps down south.
